Eat the frog? Umm.. I’m not that hungry! Don’t worry, you don’t actually have to eat an amphibian to be productive!
Eat the frog means to tackle your most difficult or time consuming task first and get it out of the way. Although the phrase does sound funny, the meaning behind it can be very helpful in how we manage our time.
Each morning during our WIP chat (Work in Progress – another one of our sayings), we prioritise our to-do list and decide which task is our frog. We always ‘eat our frog’ first so that we don’t end up procrastinating and run out of time.
Although this phrase is particularly relevant in our creative industry, you can easily apply it to your everyday life. Whether it be starting that large daunting project, going for a run, cleaning your house, or even replying to an email. Whatever your frog is, big or small, it won’t just hop away if you simply ignore it.
Remember, the key is to tackle your frog early so that you have more time and energy for the rest of your tasks. It’s about setting yourself up for success!
So, what is your frog for today? Have you had your breakfast yet?
